Hot Pepper Casino Review
by Charlie
I had heard great things about Hot Pepper, particularly their great customer service so it was in anticipation of great things that I downloaded the casino and made my first deposit.
The casino itself is powered by Odds On which I believe has now changed its name to Vegas Technology, and my only other previous experience with this software was at English Harbour Casino. At the bottom of the screen was a tournament tab where there were several free to enter tournaments - mainly for slots. Although Im not a great slots player I tried a couple of them out, the first was for a bonus slot type thing called Cleopatras Pyramid, which although it was fun had the lowest paying bonus round I have ever encountered in a slot. The aim of the bonus game is to climb the pyramid and each brick you successfully turn gives a cash prize. If you encounter a snake then the round ends and you keep what you have already won. Well I am either the unluckiest player or this is the meanest slot ever as most times it didnt even return my bet! Luckily the free spins feature was a little better.
The casino still accepts US players, although deposit methods for us are a little limited, to Visa or Mastercard or Direct Cash. Non US players can deposit with Neteller, Moneybookers, credit card, Click2Pay and Web Money. The minimum deposit is $30.
Games wise, the casino has a reasonable although not great selection. It does have some hard to find table games such as Pai Gow, and Ten High Holdem, plus four variants of blackjack, American and Euro Roulette, Craps, Red Dog, Let It Ride, Baccarat, War and Caribbean Stud. It also has some interesting games such as Poker Dice and the weirdly addictive poker slots.
Deposit over $35 and you will get a 100% match bonus. Beware as the minimum deposit is $30 - deposit just $30 and you wont get the bonus. Customer service is helpful but slow, live support is available but you often have to wait a while before you get an answer. You may be better off emailing or calling.
My impression of Hot Pepper? OK. It makes a change from the usual Micro/RTG software and the experience is pleasant enough. If you are a slot player you will like it, as will tournament players as they have free tournaments on most times. For me the mix of games just wasnt right but thats a personal thing.
